| 1. | How soon after I submit my application for membership
will I see my name in "Find A Clown"? | Applications for
membership are processed on a daily basis. Find A Clown is updated once a month,
usually by the fifth day of the month. It usually takes us about a month to post
the information on new members. |
| 2. | How soon after
I join will I begin receiving the Calliope? | The Calliope is
published every two months. You should see your first issue of The New Calliope
with in a few weeks of receiving your Welcome package for the COAI business
office. |
| 3. | How can I
get information on becoming a Life Member of COAI? | You can
contact your Regional Vice President or the Business Office during published
hours. You can also check out the web site for more information, www.coai.org. |
| 4. | If I join
in April, will I have to pay dues again in June? | Dues for your
first year of membership are prorated. When you receive your dues notice for the
following year, you will notice an adjustment. If you have any questions, you
should call the Business Office. |
| 5. | I am a new
clown and would like to join an alley. Where do I find one? | You
can start by checking the COAI web site. Most of our charted alleys have contact
information posted. Check your local telephone book. Many alleys have telephone
numbers, some even have advertisements in the Yellow Pages. Or, you can contact
a COAI Regional Vice President. They can help you make contact with an alley in
your area. |
| 6. | How does
one go about chartering an alley with COAI? | Gather together five
COAI members, draft a set of bylaws and contact the Director of Alley/Region
Support. Complete the application that is sent to you and within a short period of time you will receive an alley charter. |
| 7. | I would
like to attend the annual COAI convention. How does one become a delegate? |
We don't have delegates. Fill out a registration form, enclose it with the
appropriate fees and mail it off to the convention hosts. Don't forget to make
you hotel reservations. We will see you at the convention! |

I would like to apply for a scholarship. Where do I get more information? |
COAI offers a number of scholarship and grant programs. Keep an eye on your
Calliope, check out the web site or contact your Regional Vice President or the
Director of Education. |

I need to purchase some clown supplies. Where do I go? |
Each issue of The New Calliope carries ads from numerous dealers who support all
aspects of our performing art. Contact any one of them and be sure to tell them
you saw their ad in the Calliope. If you tap "clown supplies" in to the browser
on your computer, you should see almost 12 thousand pages of helpful information
on the matter. |

Our alley just performed for a really neat benefit fundraiser for a unique
youngster. How can I get a story about it into the Calliope? |
Write a short article. Be sure to include the who, what, when and where, as well
as, the highlights of the event. Include any photos your alley members may have
taken. Send it all to the editor of the Calliope. Contact information can
usually be found on the inside front cover of any recent issue. Our editor
receives hundred of submissions each month. Pertinent event reports feature COAI
members are always welcome. |

I just moved. Who should I give my new mailing address to? |
Please contact the Business Office with your new mailing address and do it as
soon as possible. We don't want you to miss anything. |

I would like to compete at the spring convention. What are the qualifications?
Where are the rules? |
Any member in good standing can compete. Rules can be found on the COAI web
site, www.coai.org. |
